二零零八年一月三十一日：：LAE，巴布雅新幾內亞。

千萬不能低估了人對新幾內亞人對書籍的渴望。
在這個幾乎對外界隔絕的南太平洋國家，不要說網際網路的資源非常有限，就連電視機都不容易看到幾台。

因為一般進口書籍的天價幾乎對當地人來說是可想卻不可及的，所以當「忠僕號」在港時，大家都盡可能的把握這個機會。
學術機構有如一般學校，大專院校，和圖書館都派人登船採購，並稱此難得的機會收集這些在忠僕號國際書展裡價格合理的書籍。
之前拜訪巴布雅新幾內亞的經驗都告訴我們，人山人海的盛況是可以期待的。所以這次，我們書展部的同仁們都上緊發條，拭目以待。

Academic institutions like schools,
colleges and libraries are also seizing the opportunity to stock up from the affordable
selection offered on board. Previous calls at to the country have seen huge crowds
visit the ship and book fair staff are working hard to meet
a similar expected demand this time round.
