Doulos Update -  04 Feb 2010

Dear friends and co-workers,
親愛的夥伴以及同工們，
We continue to look back at the Doulos ministry with gratitude and praise to God. Please continue to pray that the last stages of her journey would still exhibit God's providence. 

我們持續的讚美神並用感恩的心回顧忠僕號的事工。請繼續為我們代禱，希望她（忠僕號）最後的一程仍然能夠彰顯神美好的供應。
 
Most of us had really been hoping that there would be an opportunity for her to continue in ministry from a fixed berth. We have been in ongoing negotiations with a group in South Africa to this end, but they have not been able to put the necessary arrangements in place for this to happen. We have also been working with two other groups to try to secure the preservation of the vessel, but both came to the conclusion that it would be technically and financially too challenging. 

我們大部分的人，都真誠的希望會有一個比較確定的港口或目的地可以延續她的事工。一直到最近，我們都持續的與一個來自南非的財團協商，但不幸的是最終他們無法在期限將所必須的資金周轉成功。我們同時與其他另外兩個團體接觸，希望仍能以保有這艘船的原則，然而，這兩個單位也得到負面的結論，因為技術上和財務上都難度太高。

This leaves us only with the other offers to purchase the ship for scrap, and with heavy hearts, the subcommittee of the OM Ships board has asked our broker to begin detailed negotiations to secure what we believe is the best offer. We need to complete the process of sale and delivery before the class certification runs out at the end of March.

這也只留給我們不多的選擇，那就是將船賣給出價要將船拆卸成廢鐵的買主。帶著沈重的心情，OM福音船事工的董事委員會必須忍痛要求我們的代理人開始協調交易的細節，期待可以保證事工能夠（在這前提下）得到的最大的價值。我們需要完成這個交易的程序，並且在相關標准的檢定在三月到期前交船。

Doulos is currently in a shipyard in Singapore where we are unloading the books and equipment that we plan to keep or give to others. The leased satellite communication system is being dismantled and taken off the ship, so the US satellite telephone number will no longer work from today. Alternative arrangements for e-mail are in place. Pray for safety and that we will be able to complete the loading and sending of containers before the beginning of Chinese New Year holidays on 14 February.

忠僕號目前仍然停在新加坡的船塢，我們持續的裝卸要保留或是轉送的書籍以及器具。長期租用的衛星網絡通訊系統也被解除，並已經從船上拆卸下來。這代表了那個當初的美國的電話號碼，從今天起已經不再適用。EMAIL和網路的備案安排已經就緒。請為我們能在中國新年（二月十四日）之前，可以順利並且安全的完成裝卸以及寄送這些貨櫃來代禱。



We greatly appreciate your continued prayer and support through this process of decommissioning and the sale of the vessel. Pray especially for the smaller community of about 120 left on board, and for those whose next steps are not yet clear. Thank you again for your partnership with OM Ships, and your involvement in the ministry of Doulos. 

我們感激您們在這個特殊的時刻持續的禱告以及支持，這個不容易的過程當中我們不但要使福音船正式退役，而且要正式拍賣。請特別為目前在船上更小的團隊（只有一百二十位左右）來禱告，尤其是那些對未來的規劃還不是很清楚的弟兄姊妹。再次的謝謝您與世界福音動員會OM福音船的同工，以及您在忠僕號事工中的參與。
